Manuel Pellegrini believes that he has made a good addition to his West Ham squad by snapping up full-back Ryan Fredericks on a four-year contract from Fulham.
The 25-year-old helped the Cottagers secure a return to the Premier League via the play-offs, but has chosen to move on immediately, with his current deal running out this summer.

And new Hammers head coach Pellegrini is pleased to have made his first signing since taking charge at the London Stadium a few weeks ago.
The Chilean told his club's official website: "I am very pleased to welcome Ryan as our first signing this summer. He joins having had a successful season with Fulham and is a player who will bring great qualities to our squad.
"He has good experience, with more than 150 senior appearances already but at 25 he is still a young player with his best years ahead of him.
"Ryan has good character, is hungry to succeed and has shown me that he has great desire to be a West Ham player. I look forward to working with him."
Former Manchester City boss Pellegrini has been charged with trying to improve on a 13th-placed finish last season, when the Irons eventually finished nine points clear of the relegation zone.
