Moyes would want £30m for Pickford

Sunderland boss David Moyes admitted he may have to sell Jordan Pickford this summer, but would want a massive fee for him.

The Stadium of Light will host Championship football next season with Sunderland's fate being decided weeks ago.

However, one positive in a depressing season has been the form of goalkeeper Pickford and he is likely to have a host of clubs clamouring for his signature once the current campaign comes to an end.

Moyes claimed a figure of £30m was realistic, saying: "It would need to be a really, really big offer.

"I have said all through the season that sometimes on your journey, you may have to sell to improve.

"But I have heard some really derisory sort of figures getting mentioned, and it wouldn't be any of those figures, I can tell you that."

Sunderland's final Premier League game for at least a season will be on Sunday away to champions Chelsea and Moyes is already looking ahead to the forthcoming campaign and plotting a quick return to the top flight.

He told a press conference ahead of the Chelsea game: "We need players who are robust, are big characters and are capable of playing at the Stadium of Light.

"I think we have a core here and we need to keep those players. We need to find a way of adding to it and add players who have quality."

Chelsea are 1/9 to win on Sunday and reach 93 points for the season, Sunderland are 25/1 with the draw 10/1.

Moyes may well have a youthful team out at Stamford Bridge with up to 11 players out injured.

Chelsea meanwhile could have John Terry playing in his 717th and final appearance for the club, the defender leaving the champions at the end of the season.

Antonio Conte will have next weekend's FA Cup final in mind as he names his side to face Sunderland.

They face Arsenal at Wembley and are 1/3 to win and ensure a league and cup double.
