Jose Mourinho is not giving up on a Premier League title win for Manchester United this season despite Sunday's 1-0 defeat at Chelsea.

The Red Devils' were looking to stay in touch with rivals Manchester City at the top of the table after Pep Guardiola's men had earlier defeated Arsenal 3-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

However, the Portuguese tactician suffered his third successive defeat against his former club at Stamford Bridge after Alvaro Morata scored the only goal of the game on 55 minutes.

I hope, I feel, I think, I wish that in the busy period of late November, December, beginning of January, I think probably we are going to be at our maximum strength.

United stay second in the Premier League - ahead of Tottenham on goal difference - but City are now eight points clear at the top going into the latest international break.

Despite slipping further off the pace, Mourinho is still confident that the Blues can be overhauled when he has a fully fit squad to pick from.

"We are worried, but there are 18 teams more worried than us," he said.

"Eight points in the Premier League, there is still a lot to play (for).

"I hope, I feel, I think, I wish that in the busy period of late November, December, beginning of January, I think probably we are going to be at our maximum strength, with (Paul) Pogba back, Ibra (Zlatan Ibrahimovic), Marcus Rojo back. Probably we can be on a high."

United are 14/1 to win the Premier League this season, while City are available at 1/8.
