Harry Maguire is looking forward to the future with Leicester City after signing a new five-year deal to keep him on board until summer 2023.

The 23-year-old central defender was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer transfer window following his impressive first season at the King Power Stadium and performances in England's run to the semi-finals of the World Cup.

They gave me an opportunity to play in the Premier League and built a great platform for me to go and perform at the World Cup.

However, Maguire, who was an ever-present for the Foxes in the Premier League last term after joining in a £17million deal from Hull City and has scored one goal in their opening four matches of this season, has opted to pledge his long-term future to Claude Puel's side.

Leicester's 2017-18 Player of the Year told the club's website: "Ever since I came to this club, I've always reiterated how good they've been to me.

"They gave me an opportunity to play in the Premier League and built a great platform for me to go and perform at the World Cup, so I thank them a lot. I owe them a lot and I'm looking forward to the future."

Leicester are currently eighth in the Premier League and are 20/1 to to finish in the top six, while the Foxes are available at 25/1 to win the FA Cup.
