Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has put himself into pole position to win the Golden Boot by scoring four times in a 6-1 thrashing of Leicester City.

Kane started the game at the King Power Stadium two goals behind Everton ace Romelu Lukaku, before taking his Premier League tally for the season to 26 with a stunning four-goal blast against the Foxes.

I'll go out there against Hull and try and get four more, hopefully.

Lukaku remains on 24 goals, while Arsenal frontman Alexis Sanchez has 23, with the final round of Premier League matches set for Sunday.

And Kane, who has now scored eight times in his last seven games, is aiming to ensure top spot by helping Spurs win at Hull City in their final game of the campaign.

He told Sky Sports: "There has been a bit of build-up in the race for the golden boot and I wanted at least one or two to put the pressure on - but to get four is amazing.

"I said that I just wanted to get one or two goals and hopefully take it into the last game. I'm in the driving seat at the minute - but there's still one game to play.

"I'm not resting on my laurels. I'll go out there against Hull and try and get four more, hopefully."

Kane can now be backed at 1/16 to finish the season as the top scorer in the Premier League, with Lukaku 16/1 and Sanchez 33/1.

Meanwhile, Lilywhites head coach Mauricio Pochettino was full of praise for his in-form striker, who was also the leading goalscorer in the top-flight last season.

Pochettino added: "Harry Kane's a special player, he loves Tottenham. I tell you always that he's one of the best strikers in the world. His performances show that we are right.

"What can we say? He is great, one of the best strikers in the world and now we try to keep going and he tries to finish in the best way and then we look forward to next season."
