Dier urges Alli stay

Tottenham's Eric Dier believes team-mate Dele Alli is at the perfect club to develop as a player and should avoid the temptation of a move away.

With 13 goals to his name already this season, Alli has been able to build on his breakthrough campaign last term and is attracting interest from all over Europe.

The 20-year-old has made himself a key figure at White Hart Lane and the playmaker is currently contracted at the club until 2022.

Spurs and England team-mate Dier has been impressed with Alli's progress and is determined to see the midfielder stay at Tottenham rather than become a commodity at a giant club on the continent.

"He's still a very young boy, I think people need to remember that," Dier told Sky Sports.

"I think he's at the perfect place for that because he's got a support system around him and a manager and a group of players that will take care of him.

"You have to worry about young players sometimes in certain places if they can cope with it and will they be looked after as a 20-year-old boy and not just an asset.

"I think he's very well looked after here and hopefully he will be for a long time."

Spurs are 20/1 to win the Premier League title this season, while they are 7/2 to win the FA Cup this term.
