Clement keen on Terry talks

Swansea City head coach Paul Clement says he will talk to John Terry this summer to find out what the Chelsea legend plans to do next.

Former England captain Terry will leave the Blues at the end of the season after almost two decades with the Stamford Bridge club and is expected to be subject to a number of offers from both home and abroad.

I do not know what his thinking is, whether he will carry on?

Central defender Terry has yet to decide whether he will extend his career or call time, but ex-Chelsea coach Clement is keen to speak to his former charge about a possible future at the Liberty Stadium.

He told reporters: "We will have a conversation. I have known him a long time, but I do not know what his thinking is, whether he will carry on?

"There is talk it could be his last game or he could go on, whether here in the Premier League or abroad."

Meanwhile, Clement is expecting a strong performance from the Swans at home to West Brom on Sunday, with his players able to relax a little after their Premier League survival was guaranteed last weekend.

The Swans have taken 10 points from a possible 12 in their last four games, a run which condemned Hill City to the drop, alongside Middlesbrough and Sunderland.

City are 13/10 to make a winning end to the season and are 11/1 to beat the Baggies by a 2-0 scoreline, with Fernando Llorente 11/8 to score at any time - having found the net in three of his last four games.

Clement added: "Very pleasing to be in this situation, because potentially we could have had a very high-pressure week, so the fact that we have done it with one game to go is very pleasing.

"But we want to finish off strongly…to potentially finish with three consecutive wins in the Premier League, which is very difficult to do.

"We want to try potentially finish two places above the situation we are in now, which is a possibility."
