Burnley defender Ben Mee is looking forward to a likely battle with Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata in the opening round of Premier League fixtures.

Morata made the switch to Chelsea from Real Madrid during the summer and is expected to start when the Clarets head to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Mee is well aware Burnley will have to be on top form to get a result but he is relishing the prospect of taking on Morata regardless.

"It will be good to see what Morata is like. I think we'll have a few clips on him and they'll have done a little bit of research on him that will be fed back to us. We'll play it by ear," he told the Burnley Express.

"For a defender especially it's worth watching strikers movements, not too much, not overkill but I think you can get an idea of what type of player they are like. There's that many games on TV now you can watch and see and you kind of know what each player and each striker is like.

"Some players have different styles but that won't affect the way that we go about our business. We'll have a game plan and I'm sure we'll have the same game-plan regardless of whoever plays up front."

Burnley are 12/1 to secure a win at Chelsea and the draw is19/4 .

Chelsea are 5/1 to win 2-0.
