Butland: I don't want to leave

Jack Butland has denied that he has asked to leave Stoke City and says he is desperate for the Potters to avoid relegation from the Premier League.

It had been suggested at the weekend that Arsenal and Liverpool were keen to sign the 24-year-old goalkeeper who insists he has no desire to leave the bet365 Stadium.

"Before this spreads any further, I haven't told the club I want to leave, I'm focused on doing everything I can to keep the club in this division!" Butland posted on social media.

He added: "I'm really pleased with the improvement in performances recently and we are finally feeling as though we are in games and could be picking up points."

Stoke are in the relegation zone after winning only one of their last eight Premier League encounters.

Butland thinks Paul Lambert is the right man to guide the Potters away from trouble though, adding: "I'm really pleased with the improvement in performances recently and we are finally feeling as though we are in games and could be picking up points."

Stoke are 1000/1 to be relegated this season while Crystal Palace are 1000/1 to go down.
