Alli backed for derby return
Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli is expected to be fit for the north London derby against Arsenal after the international break, according to Mauricio Pochettino.
The Spurs chief was without the 21-year-old for Sunday's 1-0 Premier League win against Crystal Palace at Wembley because of a slight hamstring problem he initially suffered in the defeat at Manchester United the previous weekend.
Alli did play and scored twice in the midweek 3-1 Champions League win against Real Madrid, but the decision to play him was described as a gamble by Pochettino.
We're sure he'll be ready for Arsenal (after the international break). We hope he's going well in the next few weeks and will be available.Mauricio Pochettino
Alli will subsequently miss England's upcoming friendlies against Germany and Brazil to continue his recovery, but the Argentinian tactician fully expects him to be available for the eagerly-awaited clash against the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium on 18th November.
"Dele Alli against Manchester United finished the game feeling his posterior tendon, close to the hamstring, and then played 90 minutes against Real Madrid," Pochettino said.
"It's a very, very, very small thing. It was a massive risk (to play him) again. We're sure he'll be ready for Arsenal (after the international break). We hope he's going well in the next few weeks and will be available."
In addition to Alli, Pochettino also has slight injury worries surrounding Harry Kane and Harry Winks, while Hugo Lloris, Toby Alderweireld, Michel Vorm, Erik Lamela and Victor Wanyama are all currently unavailable.
Spurs are 15/8 to win the derby at Arsenal, while the Gunners are available at 31/20 and the draw is priced at 5/2.
