Valverde ignores Iniesta rumours
Barcelona head coach Ernesto Valverde has batted away suggestions that veteran midfielder Andres Iniesta is the subject of strong interest from the Chinese Super League.
Valverde was speaking after seeing his side defeat Eibar 2-0 to equal a club record of 31 games unbeaten in La Liga, with Barca seven points clear of Atletico Madrid at the top of the table.
And he gave short shrift to reports that an offer or offers had been lodged for Camp Nou stalwart Iniesta.
He told reporters: "There has been no offer, if there was then we could talk about it.
"I have nothing to say about it at the moment, I have not given the issue any thought and I cannot comment on every news story about the club.
"Andres is a player in our squad and is at a very high level - that is all I can say."
Iniesta has spent the whole of his professional career with the Catalan giants, helping them to eight Spanish league titles, five Copa del Rey successes, four Champions League triumphs and three FIFA Club World Cup victories.
He was also a part of the Spain squad who were crowned European champions in both 2008 and 2012, as well as securing World Cup glory in South Africa in 2010.
Iniesta himself had the honour of scoring the extra-time winner against the Netherlands in Johannesburg as Spain claimed the World Cup for the first time in their history.
Meanwhile, Barcelona are 12121/1 to win the Champions League again this season, with Bayern Munich priced at 12121/1 and Real Madrid 4/6.
