Benzema pens Real deal extension
Karim Benzema has pledged his next four years to Real Madrid by signing a new deal to keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu until summer 2021.
The 29-year-old France international, who has scored over 181 goals in 371 appearances for Los Blancos since joining from Lyon in summer 2009, has won three Champions League titles, La Liga twice and two Copa del Rey crowns during his time at the club.
Benzema is currently sidelined because of a hamstring injury and will play no part in Wednesday's La Liga clash against Real Betis.
However, the club are delighted to tie him down to a new deal and will no doubt expect him to continue to play a big part in their quest for more silverware.
A Real Madrid statememt read: "Real Madrid and Benzema have agreed to extend the contract of the player, who will remain tied to the club until June 30, 2021."
Benzema, who follows the likes of Isco, Marcelo and Dani Carvajal in agreeing new deals with Real Madrid in recent weeks, will have an official contract signing ceremony on Thursday.
Real Madrid are 6/4 to retain their La Liga title this season and 4/1 to win the Champions League for a third successive year.
