Atletico duo head to China
Atletico Madrid have sold Belgium international Yannick Carrasco and fellow midfielder Nico Gaitan to Chinese Super League club Dalian Yifang.
The duo have moved to China for undisclosed fees with immediate effect, but Carrasco is still confident of featuring for his country at this summer's World Cup in Russia.
Jose Fonte moved from West Ham United to the China League One champions last week.
Carrasco said: "My distance from the European continent does not mean that my ambition to participate in the World Cup is reduced.
"I will make the necessary efforts to show the coach of the Belgian team that I am ready to participate in the World Cup in Russia this summer."
Carrasco, who scored three goals in 17 La Liga appearances for Diego Simeone's side this term, added: "The Chinese championship is booming, the working conditions are excellent, the new infrastructures are modern and they are available for both players and fans. The level of play improves every season."
Reports suggest Dalian Yifang will pay 18 million euros for 30-year-old Argentine Gaitan, who joined Atletico in June 2016 from Benfica.
Carrasco, 24, who will cost Dalian 30 million euros, made 124 appearances for Atletico after joining the club from Monaco in 2015.
Atletico are currently second in the La Liga table, seven points behind leaders Barcelona who they face on Sunday. Atletico are 19/4 to win the match while Barcelona are 4/7 to come out on top.
