Walters set to boost O'Neill
Jonathan Walters has handed Republic of Ireland a boost by declaring himself fit enough to feature in the World Cup qualifier against Austria.
The Stoke City star has returned to training so boss Martin O'Neill has a full squad to choose from for a match against an Austrian team that is struggling in the group.
The Republic go into the game in Dublin level on points with Group D leaders Serbia and are 5/4 to beat Austria and 5/1 to do so 1-0.
"We want players to go to war," said Republic of Ireland's assistant boss Roy Keane.
"You want players playing on the edge, we want players putting their bodies on the line, which lads have done before, people like Seamus Coleman."
Austria manager Marcel Koller will be without Andreas Ulmer, Marko Arnautovic, Stefan Ilsanker, Marc Janko and Marcel Sabitzer but Keane is taking nothing for granted, adding: "We have to focus on a really good performance and then the result will take care of itself. We need to be ready for a tough game.
"Jon Walters is fine. He trained. He's good."
