Wagner's form thrills Low
Germany boss Joachim Low picked out Sandro Wagner for special praise after watching his team thrash European minnows San Marino 7-0.
Wagner scored a hat-trick while Julian Draxler, Amin Younes, Shkodran Mustafi and Julian Brandt were also on the scoresheet in Nuremberg as Germany warmed up for the start of the Confederations Cup.
Hosts Russia, Germany, Australia, Chile, Mexico, New Zealand, Portugal and Cameroon will all be involved in the competition which gets underway on Saturday.
Germany are 7/10 to win the competition while Russia can be backed at 1212/1 and Portugal at 2/1.
"It was a great opportunity to gain some confidence," said Low. "The boys kept the pace up over 90 minutes.
"It was an important game for [Wagner]. He's using his body well and is not easy to defend against. He is a player with maturity and personality and one who stands by his own opinion.
"He is a very open and honest guy and he is very positive within the team."
