Loftus-Cheek takes the spotlight
Crystal Palace loanee Ruben Loftus-Cheek took the plaudits from England head coach Gareth Southgate following a 0-0 draw with Germany at Wembley.
The 21-year-old Chelsea schemer made a big impact on his senior Three Lions debut, with Loftus-Cheek one of five players given their first outing by Southgate - along with Jordan Pickford, Tammy Abraham, Joe Gomez and Jack Cork.

And Southgate was delighted to see the youngster make an impressive step up from Under-21s level and give him another midfield option to ponder.
Southgate told ITV: "He did everything I know he can do. He has the physical attributes and can handle the ball. He will gain huge confidence from his display.
"It took him 10 minutes to realise he's okay here. He is capable of anything.
"I wanted to pick him for the games last month (against Slovenia and Lithuania). I see things in him that lead me to believe he can play at this level.
"He's an exciting player and he's one who might have gone under the radar a bit for the wider public until now."
While the clash with Die Mannschaft was largely positive for Southgate, the one downside was an injury to Manchester United central defender Phil Jones,
Jones managed to last 24 minutes of the game, before a problem with his left thigh forced him from the field, to be replaced by debutant Gomez.
And Southgate hinted that the defender might miss the friendly against Brazil on Tuesday evening.
He added: "He seems fine, we've checked him out. It's something he's been carrying, but he doesn't seem to be any worse so that's fine. We'll see whether he stays with us."
England can be backed at 5/1 to defeat Brazil at Wembley, with the draw priced at 16/5 and a 2-1 win for the Selecao 15/2.
