Gordon: Slovenia will be tough

Goalkeeper Craig Gordon has warned Scotland that they face a tough nut to crack when they take on Slovenia in the Stozice Stadium in Ljubljana.

The visitors know that a win in the Slovenian capital will ensure a World Cup play-off place, but the hosts have yet to concede a goal at home in qualification and are sure to represent a significant obstacle.

I think everybody is thinking it is maybe going to be easy, but it isn't.

The Celtic ace told reporters: "We are in a good place, especially after the start of the campaign. It is up to us now to try to get one more win.

"We have done well over the last four or five games to put ourselves in this position, and now we have to make that final jump and get the points to make sure we do it.

"We are on a great run, confidence is as high as it possibly could be, but we are up against a good team.

"We have still got a very big task. I think everybody is thinking it is maybe going to be easy, but it isn't. We are going to have to really play well and create chances and hopefully take one."

Scotland are unbeaten in their last six games in qualifying Group F, having previously just won one of their opening four pool games.

They will be without Bournemouth winger Ryan Fraser for the clash in Ljubljana due to a hamstring injury,

Scotland are 11/2 to claim a 1-0 victory in Slovenia, with a 1-1 draw priced at 5/1, while Gordon Strachan's side are 7/2 to qualify for the World Cup finals in Russia next summer.
