Deeney's omission baffles Mazzarri
Watford manager Walter Mazzarri is annoyed that Troy Deeney has not been included in the England squad for this month's games against Germany and Lithuania.
Gareth Southgate ignored the 28-year-old's claims even though Harry Kane, Daniel Sturridge and Wayne Rooney are all currently injured.
Veteran Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe has been included while Deeney has not, even though he has scored five goals in his last six games.
Mazzarri said: "The facts speak for themselves - he's scored in almost every game in the last few weeks, but these are the decisions of the England manager and we have to respect it.
"When I speak with him I will tell him he needs to score a hat-trick in each game because one is not enough. Also if he scores three goals, it will help us win too.
"At the moment he is in his best form of the season."
Watford visit Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon and Deeney is 11/4 to score at any time in the match at Selhurst Park.
England are 15/4 to beat Germany on 22nd March and 14/1 to win the match 2-1. Meanwhile, Southgate's team are 18/1 to win next year's World Cup in Russia.
