Hughton won't rush Locadia
Brighton manager Chris Hughton is unsure when new signing Jurgen Locadia will be able to make his debut for the club.
The Seagulls snapped up the Dutch striker for a club-record £14million from PSV Eindhoven earlier this week and Hughton hopes he can grab the goals that will keep the Seagulls in the Premier League.
However, Locadia is currently recovering from a hamstring injury and looks set to be sidelined for at least two more weeks.
Albion face fellow strugglers Southampton, West Ham United, Stoke City and Swansea City in the next few weeks although they are currently focused on Saturday's FA Cup fourth-round tie at Middlesbrough.
Hughton said when asked when Locadia would be able to make his first appearance for Brighton, 11/4 to be relegated this season: "I would never say (when) because I wouldn't want to put any pressure on. At the moment he is outside, not training with the team, but he is outside training with our rehab staff.
"At the moment he doesn't feel the injury. It's whether he shaves a few days off and has gone through all the testing. We're hopeful but I'd prefer not to put a date on it.
"The reason why we have brought him in is to complement our squad. Sometimes a new player coming in can bring the best out of somebody else. This is the dynamics of a squad you put together."
Brighton can be backed at 29/10 to beat Middlesbrough and at 9/4 to keep a clean sheet against the Championship outfit.
