Hill plotting Tottenham downfall

Rochdale boss Keith Hill says he is working on a "perfect plan" ahead of Wednesday's FA Cup fifth-round replay against Tottenham.

The League One outfit hit the headlines earlier this month when Steve Davis' stoppage-time strike saw them claim a 2-2 draw and book their trip to Wembley.

It has been a tough season to date for Dale, currently sitting bottom of League One, albeit with a number of games in hand.

I want us to take Tottenham on.

A cup upset looks unlikely from the outset but Hill is known for his optimism and insists Wednesday's match will not be a "day out" for his players.

Rochdale are 33/1 to win at Wembley, with the draw in 90 minutes 12/1 and Spurs 1/12.

Ahead of what could be a thrilling night, Hill says he will tell his players to forget their lowly status and instead take the game to their illustrious opponents.

"It's not a day out for us," he said. "We're trying to do what would be an impossible task, which is play at Tottenham's home ground and win an FA Cup replay.

"We're trying to come up with the perfect plan, which has got to be delivered perfectly by the players.

"They're going to have to be brave, and if we're brave and we get beat by four, five or six, then it's something that me, as a coach, will accept. If we're not too brave, then I'll find that very difficult to digest, because I want us to take Tottenham on."

Tottenham are 12121/1 to win the FA Cup.
