Carvalhal rues Forestieri blow
Sheffield Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal does not think Fernando Forestieri will be able to play again until just before Christmas.
The striker is due to have a knee operation next week and is expected to be out of action for three months.
Carvalhal said: "Fernando Forestieri will be out because of the surgery. He will be out for a minimum three-month period because he needs to have the surgery on the knee.
"His surgery will be as soon as possible, I think at the beginning of next week so he can start to recover as soon as possible."
Meanwhile, Carvalhal is looking forward to playing at Hillsborough on Saturday evening having not had a home fixture since the 1-1 draw with Sunderland in mid-August.
The Owls are 19/20 to beat Nottingham Forest and 15/2 to win the match 2-0.
Carvalhal, who is serving a two-match touchline ban, added: "It seems like we played our last game here three months ago! But we are very happy to feel the sensation of Hillsborough again.
"All the teams are difficult, we don't have easy games in this competition.
"Nottingham Forest are a team that have changed a lot, brought in a lot of new players, made a good start to the season and it will be a tough game."
