Leipzig vow to keep Keita
RB Leipzig coach Ralph Hasenhuttl has told Liverpool that they have no chance of signing Naby Keita before the transfer window closes.
The 22-year-old Guinea midfielder has been on Reds boss Jurgen Klopp's wish-list this summer, but Hasenhuttl has no desire to lose such a promising player.
Keita enjoyed an exceptional 2016/17 campaign in the Bundesliga with Leipzig after arriving from the German side's sister club Salzburg last summer.
He scored eight goals as Leipzig finished second in the Bundesliga and they will be involved in the Champions League this term as a result of their domestic success.
Hasenhuttl insisted after his side had lost 1-0 to Sevilla in the Emirates Cup on Saturday: "The chances [of a transfer], none.
"It's 100 per cent clear that Naby will play this year in Leipzig. At the beginning of the transfer period we said we would start with the same team with all the main players we had left last year, that no one will go.
"That would be our answer now, also because for us, we conceded how important Naby Keita is for our game."
Leipzig can be backed at 9/4 to win the Bundesliga without Bayern Munich in 2017/18, while Liverpool are available at 50/1 to finish at the top of the Premier League table and at 10/11 to seal a top-four spot again.
