Adam Taggart's move from Perth Glory to Brisbane Roar hasn't gone down well with Perth owner Tony Sage.
The former A-League Golden Boot winner has signed with Brisbane for the next two seasons.
He leaves Perth after scoring 20 goals in 38 league appearances with them over the past two campaigns.
Taggart, who played in two of Australia's group games at the 2014 World Cup and has played seven times overall for the Socceroos, was out of contract following the end of Perth's season.
Sage is far from happy at seeing the 24-year-old leave, though.
He posted on Facebook: "It's not only extremely disappointing when you take a player who is at the crossroads in his career with injury, nurse him through at great expense and finally we get him right and then leaves with no thanks or even the decency to tell us."
The Glory owner said Taggart had indicated he would delay a decision on his future until a new coach was appointed at Perth.
In the end, his move was announced by Brisbane, which Sage said represented a "two fingered salute" to Glory.
Taggart had two spells with Perth, making his A-League debut for them in 2010-11 but scoring just one goal in 10 appearances in his first stint.
He then finished as the A-League's top scorer while with Newcastle Jets in 2013-14, earning a move to Fulham on a three-year deal.
Injuries ruined his time at Craven Cottage and after he failed to make a first-team appearance in his first two seasons he was released and re-joined Perth.
He said: "I'm ready to hit the ground running in pre-season and I'm excited for what the future holds. I cannot wait to start working with John (Roar coach John Aloisi) and the rest of the team."
Meanwhile, Newcastle Jets are 4/5 to lift the A-League championship trophy, while Grand Final opponents Melbourne are 19/20.
