Two-time champion Michael van Gerwen is eager to send a message to his rivals for the upcoming UK Open at Minehead, which gets under way on Friday.
Mighty Mike was crowned champion in both 2015 and 2016, before being forced to miss the tournament 12 months ago due to a back problem.

Now he is keen to try and regain the UK Open crown and wants to warn his fellow players that he is in the right sort of form by impressing on Thursday evening in the Premier League against Mensur Suljovic.
Van Gerwen told the official PDC website: "I have been happy with some of my performances, but not all and I know I will have to produce a good one against Mensur as he played very well last week.
"It could be the start of a very good weekend for me with the UK Open just around the corner and I can send out a message with a very good performance and win in Exeter."
MVG has won three out of four in the Premier League so far this season, with his one reverse coming in Week 2 in Cardiff, when he went down 7-5 to Peter Wright, who is the defending champion at the UK Open.
His opponent on Thursday, Suljovic, is making his first appearance in the Premier League and having lost his first three matches, he hit top form last week in Berlin as he averaged in excess of 106 in defeating Gerwyn Price 7-3.
Van Gerwen is 1/10 to defeat Suljovic and is 3/1 to do so by a 7-3 scoreline, while the Dutchman is available at 1212/1 to win the UK Open for a third time in four years.
