Rance shines in Black Caps warm-up
Seth Rance took his chance well in his first game for New Zealand as they beat Ireland by 85 runs in Dublin.
The seamer took 4-13 in the warm-up ahead of the Black Caps tri-series against Ireland and Bangladesh.
The tourists cruised to victory in the 25-over game, with Rance putting his hand up for selection in the upcoming series.
Rance, who has been in good form for Central Districts over the past few seasons, has been acclimatising to the conditions by playing in England.
I've got that match fitness under my belt and hopefully I can carry on that momentum.Seth Rance
He hopes that will give him an edge when coach Mike Hesson finalises his team for their opening match against Ireland on Sunday.
The 29-year-old said: "I came over about two weeks ago and had three games in similar conditions to what we have here. I've got that match fitness under my belt and hopefully I can carry on that momentum.
"It's been awesome to bounce ideas off different players, even if we do play against them domestically, to be able to sit and talk cricket is pretty special."
The tourists had three batsmen reach their 40s including Tom Latham, who retired after top-scoring with 52.
Neil Broom made 45 off 30 balls and Luke Ronchi 41 off 21 in their total of 234-6.
They then restricted the Wolves to 149-9, Scott Kuggeleijn and Hamish Bennett each picking up two wickets.
The Black Caps are missing seven of their Champions Trophy squad, who are still playing in the Indian Premier League.
They are using the tri-series to prepare for the tournament which they begin on 2nd June against Australia at Edgbaston.
New Zealand are 2/9 to win the first ODI against Ireland, who are 10/3.
The Black Caps are 1212/1 to win the ICC Champions Trophy.
