Plunkett: We're full of beans
Liam Plunkett says there will be no Ashes hangover for England when they begin the one-day matches against Australia this weekend.
Yorkshire fast bowler Plunkett is one of a clutch of limited-overs specialists who have been drafted in for the one-day series.
"It's always a test when you come to somebody else's backyard, Australia are a good team and confident from the Ashes but it's a different squad and a different unit here now," he said.
"A lot of our guys didn't play in the Ashes, we're full of energy and full of beans.
"Some guys have been out here playing in the Big Bash, lads have been all over the world playing so we're confident and looking forward to that first game.
"It's a massive challenge. The World Cup is huge but coming to Australia to play...to get a win out here is pretty big.
"It's a massive challenge against one of the best teams in the world, we're looking forward to doing battle with them and trying to take this series."
World champions Australia will rest Josh Hazlewood this weekend as the five-match campaign opens at the MCG.
And they have replaced hard-hitting Brisbane Heat batsman Chris Lynn, who is injured, with the veteran Cameron White.
England are 13/8 to win the first ODI against Australia while Plunkett is 3/1 to be his team's top bowler in Sunday's game.
