Reeza Hendricks is placing personal ambition aside at the start of Cricket South Africa's Twenty20 tournament.
Highveld Lions batsman Hendricks is in the mix for a World Cup place with South Africa this summer in the UK.
However, he remains focused on the domestic fixtures in hand, beginning with the visit of Cape Cobras to Johannesburg this Sunday.
"Generally this competition is always exciting and fun," said the former VKB Knights player.
"I think that this tournament will be no different. Personally I'm really looking forward to it, I'm excited and I bet that the team is too.
"I see it as another opportunity for the Lions franchise to try to do well and get another trophy after one already in the bag. Hopefully as a team we can do well and try to claim that trophy: I am ready!"
Earlier this season, the Lions were crowned South Africa's first-class champions.
Hendricks, meanwhile, is competing with the Cobras' veteran Hashim Amla - the country's most prolific maker of hundreds in one-day international history - for a place in the Proteas starting XI at this summer's 50-over jamboree here.
Meanwhile Rajasthan Royals are 13/10 to take care of Kolkata KR, who are 8/13, on Sunday.
