Morkel to star against Notts
Albie Morkel will bring the curtain down on his playing career with a farewell match for the Titans against Nottinghamshire next week.
The former South Africa all-rounder heads into coaching later this year but will line up in a contest against 2017 English cup double winners Notts on 17th March at Cornwall Hill College.
Two of the school's first XI will also be involved in the Titans XI as Steven Mullaney's team prepare for the 2019 domestic season.
"This fixture is a great addition to our pre-season tour and it will be great practice to play against a tough opposition and the touring squad are looking forward to celebrating Albie's great career," said Nottinghamshire's director of cricket Mick Newell.
The 37-year-old, who hit a half-century in his only Test innings against Australia in 2009 but was never picked again, became one of the best short format performers of his generation and claimed 76 white-ball wickets in more than 100 internationals.
"This gives us the opportunity to celebrate Albie's prolific career and see him turn out for the Sky Blues one more time," said Titans chief executive Jacques Faul.
"If you have a final send-off you would like certain individuals to play alongside you that influenced your career and we've afforded Albie the opportunity to include players of his choice in the team.
"Playing against an esteemed English county like Notts aligns with our future aspirations to globalise the brand."
Notts are 14/1 to win the County Championship Division 1 title in 2019 while Essex can be backed at 6/1 and Yorkshire at 4/1.
