Lyon eager to learn more
Australia off-spinner Nathan Lyon expects to learn more about his game during his first stint in county cricket with Worcestershire.
The 29-year-old heads to England after time away from the game following a tough tour of India, where he took 19 wickets across the four Test matches, taking his overall tally to 247 wickets in 67 Tests.
And Lyon, who has taken more Test wickets than any other off-spinner for the Baggy Greens, is looking forward to an opportunity which arises from fellow Aussie John Hastings having been called up for ICC Champions Trophy duty.
He told the Worcester News: "I've had about five weeks off and I've got the itch to get out there bowling again.
"I'm looking forward to getting back to compete and adapting to different conditions. They will be different wickets to what I'm used to and they'll be challenging.
"I'm still trying to learn things about my game as well, on and off the field."
Worcestershire have made a positive start in County Championship Division Two this summer, winning their opening two games.
They opened with an eight-wicket win over Glamorgan, before edging out Northamptonshire by 20 runs at New Road.
The Pears are a 4/9 shot to win County Championship Division Two, with Kent priced at 66/1 and Nottinghamshire available at 7/4.
