Durham enjoy bowling options
Durham could make multiple changes to their bowling attack against Derbyshire with Mark Wood's return from the Indian Premier League.
Wood opted to cut short his stint with Chennai Super Kings in a bid to stake his claim for a place in the first Test against Pakistan at Lord's later this month.
They are also boosted by the loan signing of Essex's Matt Dixon. The Australian fast bowler - who holds a British passport - will join up with the Durham squad in time for their County Championship fixture at Derby on Friday.
The 25-year-old will be available for both first-class cricket and the Royal London Cup competitions during his 28-day stay with the club.
Dixon signed for Essex at the beginning of the club's 2016 campaign and was part of the side that won the Division Two title, taking nine first class wickets in his debut season.
"I'm looking forward to welcoming Matt into our squad and believe he can add depth and pace to our current group," said Durham coach Jon Lewis.
The former Australia Under-19, Perth Scorchers and Western Warriors player will offer fresh legs in the same week that they toiled for 150.1 overs to dismiss Leicestershire at Chester-le-Street.
Durham won that contest despite having to follow on 256 runs in arrears.
Durham are 1212/1 to win the County Championship Division Two.
They are 1212/1 to win the Royal London Cup with Middlesex 1212/1 and Yorkshire are priced at 1212/1.
