Joshua reveals Vegas rematch plan

Anthony Joshua has revealed that he would like to tempt Wladimir Klitschko into a rematch by taking the fight to Las Vegas.

The 27-year-old added the WBA and IBO heavyweight titles to his IBF belt when he stopped Klitschko in the 11th round of their memorable bout at Wembley in April.

I am going to continue my career. It is up to him whether he wants to have a rematch or whether he says,'you know what, that's enough'.

Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn claimed almost a month ago that plans were in place for a rematch between the pair, but nothing has materialised since.

However, the Watford fighter discussed his plans over the weekend and revealed that he is keen to face Klitschko again and said the ball was now in the Ukrainian's court.

When asked about a venue, Joshua suggested Las Vegas would be too tempting for Klitschko to refuse, although he has mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev waiting in the wings if the former world champion declines.

Joshua told Sky Sports: "I am going to continue my career. It is up to him whether he wants to have a rematch or whether he says,'you know what, that's enough'.

"But I think, whatever he decides to do, we all respect him, and plan B would be look at the option with Pulev, and where we would fight him and the options available for the Pulev fight.

"Now I have the IBF, WBA and IBO (belts) there are obligations with mandatory challenges and Pulev is one.

"So either it will be Klitschko, which would be great, or Pulev, which would be great. I am not bothered either way."

On the prospect of Vegas, Joshua added: "Vegas, it is the mecca of boxing and this is an opportunity.

"People wouldn't mind travelling and it is a nice big hurrah for himself. He has achieved so much, does he have the motivation?

"I think Vegas will get his blood boiling again."

Joshua is 2/7 to win any rematch, while Klitschko is priced at 11/4 to come out on top.
