Groves tips Smith for title joy
Paul Smith has been backed by George Groves to defeat Tyrone Zeuge and win the WBA 'regular' super middleweight title on Saturday.
The 34-year-old Liverpudlian will be looking to make it third time lucky to win a world title against Zeuge having twice lost to Arthur Abraham in his previous two attempts.
The 25-year-old German opponent is undefeated in 21 professional fights with 11 stoppages and will pose a tough test for Smith on his home soil in Frankfurt.
Now Smith has got to get his head down, get screwed on because he hasn't got years left in him, but if he wins this, it will open up doors for him.George Groves
However Groves, who recently won the WBA 'super' belt after a stoppage of Fedor Chudinov in Sheffield on 27th May and defeated Smith on points back in 2011, firmly believes he can end his long wait to become a champion.
He told Sky Sports: "This is a great opportunity for Smith and I genuinely wish him well.
"Of course he is going to take this fight. The German fans have seen him lose twice to Abraham so he has a good enough reputation in Germany.
"It might even be better than his reputation over here, so of course they are going to look to make this fight with Zeuge, it makes complete sense.

"He's been a great ambassador for our sport and is good for British boxing, so if he does pull this off and become a world champion, no-one can take that away from him."
Smith is 11/2 to win the fight, while Zeuge is priced at 1/9 to defend his belt and 6/5 via a stoppage.
