Canelo ready for Golovkin

Saul Alvarez has warned Gennady Golovkin that he is "prepared" for Saturday's mega fight in Las Vegas.

The pair meet at the T-Mobile Arena with the Mexican putting his The Ring middleweight title on the line, while Golovkin's WBA (Super) and IBF crowns are also up for grabs.

More importantly for the Kazakh, his unbeaten professional record could also go, having won all 37 of his bouts in the paid ranks.

Alvarez's only loss came to Floyd Mayweather in 2013 but the knowledge he gained from that fight seemed to take him to the next level and he has since been imperious against the likes of Miguel Cotto and Amir Khan.

I'm really, really excited to get in and fight.

Beating Golovkin would be a scalp and he is 13/8 to win the bout, with his rival 8/15.

At 27, the man known as Canelo appears to be approaching his peak years, while there is a suggestion his 35-year-old opponent no longer possesses the power he once had.

After months of build-up, Alvarez, who can be found at 18/1 to win by knockout, has warned his rival he is raring to go in Las Vegas.

"I don't like to talk too much," Alvarez said. "I just want to say that I'm prepared. I know it will be a tough fight. I just want you all to enjoy it like I'm going to enjoy it.

"I'm really, really excited to get in and fight. The excitement is there. The adrenaline is there.

"I have nothing to say to him. They know what kind of fighter I am. I'm prepared. I'm ready. All I want to tell him is, 'Look, let's give the fans a great fight.'"
