Stone urges Giants to learn

Huddersfield Giants head coach Rick Stone has urged his side to learn from their errors going forward despite holding Wigan Warriors to a 16-16 draw.

The West Yorkshire outfit, who were down to 12 men for a period of the game following the sin-binning of Kruise Leeming, have endured a difficult start to the season but will take plenty of positives from their efforts at the DW Stadium.

Next up for the Giants is a derby clash with Leeds Rhinos at the John Smith’s Stadium on Friday night and Stone is hoping his players will have learned plenty from their efforts against the Warriors.

He told BBC Radio Leeds: "I think if we could have held our composure at the end we could have managed it.

"Obviously with Kruise getting sent to the sin-bin that didn't help our cause, but there was probably a few scenarios before that we could have managed a bit better.

"Hopefully we'll learn from it. We defended pretty well, scrambled hard for each other in the last 10 or 15 minutes, so hopefully we take some positives out of that."

Huddersfield are 13/8 to win and 1/2 to lose against local rivals Leeds when the teams meet on Friday.
