Lennytheshark in prime form

Trainer David Aiken says he could not be happier with the condition of Lennytheshark as he looks to recapture his Victoria Cup title.

Lennytheshark sat out last season's race, which was won by Lazarus, as Aiken opted for the A G Hunter Cup the following week.

However, the son of Four Starzzz Shark was successful the time before and Aiken has high hopes he can add to his honours in the 14th October showdown.

Lennytheshark has not raced since finishing fourth behind his stablemate Hectorjayjay in The Blacks A Fake at Albion Park on 15th July, but showed he is in great condition when impressing in a trial at Shepparton on Tuesday.

The eight-year-old should peak for the Victoria Cup and then Aiken will start preparations for the Inter Dominion Championships in Perth later in the year.

"I'm rapt with the way he has come up, he looks terrific," Aiken said. "He will trial at Shepparton next Tuesday and then again at Melton the following Tuesday.

"The plan is to race him first-up in The Smoken Up the week before the Victoria Cup. After that we'll be off to Perth for the Inter Dominion in November."

My Field Marshal again looks to be the main danger and boasts the rare feat of having the edge over Lennytheshark, beating the latter home in three of their five clashes.
