Peter Wright is relishing a showdown with reigning PDC world champion Rob Cross in Week 3 of the Premier League Darts campaign.
Cross has struggled in his first season in the Premier League, suffering heavy defeats to Michael van Gerwen and Simon Whitlock in his opening two matches.
After losing I like to bounce back with a good win. That won't be easy against Gary, but it is what I will try to do.Michael van Gerwen
Meanwhile, Wright began with a 6-6 draw with Gerwyn Price, before defeating Van Gerwen 7-5 last time out in Cardiff.
However, Wright is taking nothing for granted against Cross, who showed a return to form in the latest round of UK Open Qualifiers.
He told the official PDC website: "He's the world champion, so he's a good player, but he didn't do well in the first two weeks of the Premier League or the first weekend of the UK Open Qualifiers.
"Last weekend, though, he was back to normal again and his form's really good, so it should be a good game."
Wright is 13/10 to defeat Cross in Newcastle on Thursday evening and is 5/1 to secure a 7-4 victory.
Meanwhile, reigning Premier League champion Van Gerwen is eager to get back on track after his misfiring performance against Wright last week, as he prepares to take on Gary Anderson.
He told his own official website: "I know I'm not going to win every single game in the Premier League, it is almost impossible.
"But after losing I like to bounce back with a good win. That won't be easy against Gary, but it is what I will try to do."
Mighty Mike is 8/15 to claim a victory on Thursday, with a 6-6 draw priced at 4/1.
