Redskins and Cowboys for all the marbles
Winner takes all and depending on how things shake out, loser potentially stays home in a dramatic NFC East Division matchup at FedEx Field in Landover, MD.
The 9-6 Washington Redskins, winners of an NFC leading six straight, lead the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants by a game in the Division. Dallas would own the tie breaker over the Redskins should the Cowboys win this upcoming weekend, however to do so Dallas will need to bounce back from an overtime loss to the New Orleans Saints at the Cowboys Stadium on Sunday. Garrett Hartley's 20 yards field goal was the difference in the extra frame after Tony Romo had connected twice in the final 3:35 of the fourth quarter to tie the contest at 31 and force overtime.
The New York Giants continued their late season swoon falling 33-14 to the Ravens at the M & T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. It was the second consecutive defeat for the defending Super Bowl champions who appear likely to miss the post season despite hammering both the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers during the regular season. Somewhat ironically the Giants may end up with a fortuitous third place schedule for next season and a chance to jump straight back into the playoff hunt. Should all their rivals fall in Week 17 and the Giants defeat the visiting Philadelphia Eagles at the MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ, then New York may still live on to defend their title.
The Redskins are 25/1 to win the Super Bowl, while the Cowboys are 100/1.
