Trail Blazers and Hornets meet at the Rose Garden
The New Orleans Hornets take their six-game losing streak to the Northwest on Sunday evening when they play the Portland Trail Blazers.
The hosts prop up the Northwest Division with a 10-12 record, but have won their last two contests including a surprising win over the San Antonio Spurs this past Thursday.
The Hornets are 10000/1 to win the NBA Championships this season, while Portland are 10000/1.
Damian Lillard, who already appears to be the one to beat in the Rookie of the Year race, led all scorers with 29 points on 11-of-22 shooting adding seven rebounds and six assists in another strong performance for the Trail Blazers.
Atop the Division the Oklahoma City Thunder lead the Minnesota Timberwolves by six games. Ricky Rubio returned from injury on Saturday dishing out nine assists in the 114-106 overtime victory over the visiting Dallas Mavericks at the Target Center in Minneapolis.
Kevin Love did not play due to the flu and the Minnesota faithful will have to wait for another day to see their two best players in action together.
Monday Minnesota heads out on the road to play the Orlando Magic in Florida.
The Magic remain a most curious side; the only team to defeat the Golden State Warriors on their seven-game Eastern Conference road swing, and yet Orlando has lost to both the Toronto Raptors and Sacramento Kings, two truly poor sides.
The Timberwolves then make the short trip to Miami to play the Heat on Tuesday and a Rubio and Love match up with LeBron James and company should be one to savor.
