Jazz host Spurs in Salt Lake City

The Utah Jazz and San Antonio Spurs meet in an intriguing clash on Wednesday evening as part of a busy NBA schedule.

There are 13 games on the slate, but by far the most interesting will take place at the EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City when the Utah Jazz welcome in the San Antonio Spurs. Five and a half games adrift of the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Northwest Division, the Jazz are one of two sides in the Western Conference with a single defeat at home in the campaign and are 8-1 as part of their 12-10 record. The Spurs, winners of five in a row, are 11-2 away from the friendly confines of the AT & T Center in San Antonio and lead the Memphis Grizzlies in the Southwest Division by two games.

The Denver Nuggets, the other side in the Conference with a single home setback, will not get to defend that record until Friday when the Memphis Grizzlies arrive at the Pepsi Center. In the meantime, the Nuggets complete their five-game road swing at the Target Center in Minneapolis against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Both sides are at .500 on the season and trail the Thunder by six and a half games in the Division.

In South Florida the Golden State Warriors face potentially the toughest game of their seven-game Eastern Conference road trip when they take on the Heat at the American Airlines Arena in Miami. Winners of four straight, the Warriors are a game behind the Los Angeles Clippers who kicked off their own road game trip to the East with a five-point victory in Chicago on Tuesday evening.

The Spurs are 11/10 to win the NBA Championship while the Clippers are at 7500/1.
