Clippers travel to Phoenix

23 December 2012 12:59:04 EST

The Los Angeles Clippers take their 12 game winning streak into the US Airways Center in Phoenix on Sunday evening to play the Suns.

Suns coach Alvin Gentry will aim to end the Clippers' good run of results.

Fresh from a victory over the Sacramento Kings on Friday, the Clippers find themselves trailing just the Oklahoma City Thunder in the Western Conference and very much in the discussion concerning the best team in the NBA.

The Suns inability to prop up the Pacific Division is only due to the fortunate presence of the Sacramento Kings in the same Division.

The soap opera continues in Northern California with the news that DeMarcus Cousins has been suspended and it would be no surprise to see the young center shipped out shortly.

The Kings will look to put the distraction behind them when they host the Portland Trail Blazers at the Sleep Train Arena in the final game of the day.

Portland has won five in a row including Saturday evening against the Suns, but last lost when they played the Kings on 8th December. Damian Lillard scored 25 points against Phoenix and J.J. Hickson added a double-double as the Trail Blazers completed a successful 5-1 home stand.

The hiccupping San Antonio Spurs, losers of four of their past six, follow their win over the New Orleans on Friday with the visit of the Dallas Mavericks to the AT & T Center.

The Toronto Raptors will be in town the day after Christmas and the Houston Rockets will complete the Spurs home stand two days later.

The Miami Heat are 3/4 to win the NBA Championship, with the LA Clippers 7500/1.
