Clippers hit the road on winning streak

Clippers power forward Blake Griffin.

Fresh from a rout over the Toronto Raptors at the Staples Center on Sunday, the LA Clippers open a four-game road swing at the United Center in Chicago.

The Raptors were held to an embarrassing 10 points in the fourth quarter in the 102-83 loss allowing the Clippers to rest up their starters before heading out on the road. LA and the Bulls met previously at the Staples Center in mid November when the visitors were crushed 101-80. Blake Griffin led all scorers that evening with 26 points and LA held the Bulls to a shade under 34% shooting from the floor. A repeat performance on Tuesday would extend the Clippers winning streak to seven games and keep them ahead of the fast charging Golden State Warriors.

The Clippers are 10/11 in the point spread (-2.5), while the Bulls (+2.5) can be backed at 10/11.

Golden State is idle on Tuesday and plays the Heat in Miami on Wednesday after picking up their fourth consecutive road victory against the Charlotte Bobcats. Already a successful trip after wins over the Detroit Pistons, Brooklyn Nets and Washington Wizards, the Warriors saw David Lee and Stephen Curry continue to play well combining for 52 of Golden State's 104 points in the eight-point win.

The soon to be Pelicans of New Orleans return home for one game to play the Washington Wizards on Tuesday before moving on to Oklahoma City on Wednesday. Anthony Davis, the first overall pick in this year's draft, is expected to see action for the first time in 11 games for the hosts, although probably off the bench.
