Bulls head to Atlanta

The Chicago Bulls are in Atlanta on Saturday evening after winning a contentious battle over the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

Carmelo Anthony's Knicks were beaten by Chicago.

New York's Carmelo Anthony, Tyson Chandler and head coach Mike Woodson were all tossed from the game, as was Joakim Noah of the Bulls, as the contest threatened to boil over in the final minutes.

Led by Luol Deng's 29-points and 13 rebounds it was the second consecutive victory for the Central Division leaders who complete their two game road trip against the Hawks before returning home to the United Center in Chicago on Christmas Day to host the Houston Rockets.

A game behind the Bulls in the Division are the Milwaukee Bucks who defeated the Celtics 99-94 in overtime at the TD Garden in Boston on Friday evening.

Monta Ellis and Brandon Jennings combined for 39 points against Boston amid constant rumors that one of them will be traded.

The guess here is that it will be Ellis whose mad-bomber routine could well work at a playoff contender. Saturday the Bucks are back home at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee and will welcome in the struggling Cleveland Cavaliers.

Losers of six straight, the Cavs prop up the Division with the second worst record in the Conference. Despite the 5-23 record there may be some cause for optimism at the Quicken Loans Arena.

Rookie Dion Waiters has shown some decent ability when healthy and an injury free Kyrie Irving is one of the better point guards in the league on is day.

The Bulls are rated as 7500/1 to win the NBA Championship, with Atlanta 7500/1.
