Serena Williams set her sights on further success after securing the Family Circle Cup in style with a 6-0 6-1 thrashing of Lucie Safarova in the final.

I definitely want to continue this. I've never played consistently at such a high level.

Williams, who climbed up to ninth in the world rankings on the back of her latest victory, lost just two games in seeing off Samantha Stosur in the semi-finals and fired an ominous warning after destroying Safarova in Charleston.

She told the WTA's official website: "I definitely want to continue this. I've never played consistently at such a high level with low errors like this and the scary thing is I could have served so much better.

"It's motivating for me to go home and work harder, because I know Lucie and Sam and everyone else is going to work hard, too.

"Now they know what to expect even more when they play me. So this is just a battle and I want to continue to win."

Williams is 3/1 to win a fifth Wimbledon title this summer, with Australian Open champion Victoria Azarenka 7/1 and defending champion Petra Kvitova 5/1.

In the Davis Cup, defending champions Spain, USA, Czech Republic and Argentina all secured places in the semi-finals without the need for a decisive fifth rubber.
