Murray ready for another epic clash

Andy Murray is hoping he and Novak Djokovic can produce another high-octane encounter when they meet in the ATP World Tour Finals on Wednesday.

The two men have already played each other six times this year, with each securing three victories.

I think some of the matches we've had this year were high quality and fun to watch.

The most high-profile encounter took place in New York two months ago when the Scot edged a five-set thriller to win his first Grand Slam title at the US Open.

Murray and Djokovic both won their opening round-robin contests against Tomas Berdych and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga respectively on Monday. Murray is 1/1 to beat the Serb while Djokovic can be backed at 4/5 to emerge triumphant.

"I think some of the matches we've had this year were high quality, fun to watch, and I'm all for playing more of those matches if I can," said Murray.

"For me there's an understanding of how much you have to put into the match to win it. I think that's just the nature of those matches.

"Both of us are very good retrievers so often the points will go on a lot. Sometimes you feel like you maybe need to win the point two or three times, which is tough and can be a little bit tiring.

"But we've played each other enough to know what to expect. We do practise with each other quite a lot too, but it's never quite the same as matches, that's for sure."

World number one Djokovic edged past Murray in the Australian Open semi-finals while Murray snatched victory in the last four at the Olympics before beating Roger Federer in the final at Wimbledon.

Djokovic won their most recent meeting in the Shanghai final when he had to save five match points before clinching the victory.

In Wednesday's other group match, Tsonga is 5/4 to beat Berdych, with the Czech player 8/13 to snatch the victory.
