King duo set for Ascot

Alan KIng will send Balder Succes and Smad Place to Ascot on Saturday.

Alan King will send the excising Balder Succes for The Ladbroke Hurdle and Smad Place for the Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot on Saturday.

The yard won The Ladbroke last year with Raya Star but he will take his chance in the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton and with Balder Succes in good form King believes he has a chance of success.

Speaking to his website he said: "Smad Place seems back on track, having been forced to miss Newbury's Hennessy meeting when he was not quite right.

"Obviously, Big Buck's will be hard to beat at Ascot, but if Smad Place works well in the week that is where he will go."

King says he has no regrets about running his good novice Handazan against Far West at Cheltenham on Saturday despite seeing him well beaten for the second time this term.

He said: "He has come up against what is probably the best juvenile hurdler around in Far West.

"But he will come on again for that race, having been gelded since Aintree, though whether we go for the Finale Junior Hurdle at Chepstow now I am not sure. We will see how he is in the next week."

Balder Succes can be backed at 11/2 in the win and each way market in The Ladbroke at Ascot on Saturday, while Ranjaan is priced at 7/1.

14:15 UK Ffos Las and 17:25 UK Wolverhampton are today's Feature Race 4/1 offer races.
