Arjen Robben thinks Bayern Munich will have to "play the perfect game" on Tuesday.

Bayern Munich star Arjen Robben admits his side will have to play at their "maximum" if they are to get the better of his former club Real Madrid.

The two sides meet at Bayern's Allianz Arena on Tuesday in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final showdown.

Bayern can be backed at 13/8 to secure a win in the first leg, the draw is 12/5 and Los Blancos are 13/8 to grab the win and seal the advantage ahead of the second leg at the Bernabeu on Wednesday 25th April.

Robben, who joined the German giants from Real for €25million in 2009, is confident Bayern can reach the final of Europe's top competition but admits they will have to be at their best to see off the Spanish league leaders.

"We will give everything. You will see a great Bayern, I'm sure. We have no doubt that to eliminate Madrid, we will have to be at 120 per cent, at our maximum, and play the perfect game," Robben told Marca.

"There are no secrets to Madrid. Their enormous potential is clear, but the most important things is that they have the best coach (Jose Mourinho), who always knows how to play these games.

"They have incredible quality in attack. You can't give them a metre [of space]. You have to watch them closely the whole time."

This season's Champions League final will take place at the Allianz Arena, giving Bayern an added incentive to see off Real in the last four.
