Ferguson still has faith in Hernandez

Javier Hernandez has been handed a huge vote of confidence after being told that he still has a vital role to play at Manchester United.

The Mexican striker didn't even make the bench on Monday night when United slumped to a 1-0 defeat against Everton at Goodison Park.

This year, he's had a proper rest and that will be important for him and I'm sure he will reap the benefits.

The £24million arrival of Robin van Persie has certainly complicated matters, with some reports even suggesting the club would consider listening to offers for the player.

Added to the attacking cocktail of Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck, Shinji Kagawa, Ashley Young, Nani and Antonio Valencia, there are serious question-marks how boss Sir Alex Ferguson can keep everyone happy.

But the Old Trafford chief insists Hernandez won't be left behind in the coming months, saying: "He is such a good professional. In every training session he buzzes around the place. He loves playing football.

"For the last four or five years he's played all through the summer for Mexico. This year, he's had a proper rest and that will be important for him and I'm sure he will reap the benefits."
