Benitez coy on Chelsea future

Current Chelsea boss Rafa Benitez has refused to speculate whether he will be at Stamford Bridge beyond this season.

The Spaniard took over following the surprising exit of Roberto di Matteo and has not been the most popular figure since joining the European champions.

Benitez, who has been given a deal until the end of the current campaign, has been linked with a possible move to Real Madrid in the future, with Jose Mourinho appearing unsettled at the Santiago Bernabeu.

However Benitez has refused to get drawn into talking about his future, as he focuses on helping the Blues pick up points in the Premier League.

Benitez told Spanish Radio station Onda Cero: "When I accepted Chelsea's offer I did so because I believe that it's a good alternative.

"My future? I know things, but I am not going to say anything about Real Madrid, because I believe that I should not. We are talking about two very high-level teams.

"I have a challenge that is trying to win and do good things, it's a matter of time in convincing many people."

Chelsea are next in action on Sunday when they host Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge, looking to build on their 5-1 victory over Leeds United in midweek.

The Blues are 1/3 to win, 9/2 to draw and 15/2 to lose to the Villains this weekend.
