Nicklas Bendtner has been urged to take what could be his last chance to impress with Arsenal, as he prepares for a first Gunners appearance since May 2011.

The 25-year-old Denmark international is set to start in the Capital One Cup clash with West Brom at The Hawthorns, with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger short of attacking options.

We are open-minded, we believe in his qualities.

And Wenger has told Bendtner to do his utmost to impress against the Baggies on Wednesday evening.

"He has responded with a good attitude in training and good, hard work," Wenger said. "The real response that he can show is at West Brom.

"He had nearly gone somewhere else and in the end he stayed because it didn't work out and we needed him here. Now he can convince everybody.

"We are open-minded, we believe in his qualities. I believe in his qualities. It's just down to attitude and fighting spirit, when he has that, Nicklas can be unstoppable."

Bendtner is 6/1 to open the scoring against Albion, with the Gunners 11/10 to win the tie in 90 minutes and 5/2 to keep a clean sheet.

Wenger has opted to rest the likes of Olivier Giroud, Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey for the trip to the Black Country.
