Lionel Messi has scored 41 goals in 30 appearances for Barcelona this season.

Barcelona star Lionel Messi admits he could be tempted to join a club in his homeland later in his career.

The Argentine forward has agreed a contract extension at Camp Nou that will see him remain with the Catalan giants until 2018.

The 25-year-old is a one-club man, having graduated from Barcelona’s youth academy, and Messi insists he will never represent another European side.

However, Messi admits he is open to a switch to Argentina when his current deal comes to an end, by which time the four-time Ballon d'Or winner will be 31.

"I have said it before, in Europe I’d like to end my career at Barca," he told the FCBarcelona.com.

"I wouldn’t consider moving to another European club. With that said, I’m not ruling out the possibility of ending my playing career in Argentina."

Barcelona host Getafe on Sunday and can be backed at 4/7 to secure the win with a -2 handicap, Messi is 8/5 to score the first goal.

Getafe are 22/1 to secure an unlikely win at Camp Nou and the draw is 9/1.
